Our football fun days are returning to The Optima Stadium, with changes to ensure we fully comply with government guidelines.
Matt Bazell is returning to run the successful fun days, with Mark McKeever, Craig Graham, Ethan Reed and Bailey Williams joining him.
The fun days will run from Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July,, Monday August 3rd to Friday 7th August, Monday August 10th to Friday 14th August, Monday August 17th to Friday 21st August and Monday, August 24th to Friday 28th August. Sessions will start at 9:15am and run until 3pm at Weston-super-Mare AFC’s The Optima Stadium for children aged 5 to 12.
We will also be operating staggered drop off and collection times. We will be in touch with you with your times closer to the day of your booking.
So we can follow government guidelines, we are limited to offering 20 places per day. They will be split into groups of 5 children per 1 coach.
Players booked in for the fun days will require 3G appropriate boots, trainers, shin pads. They also must bring their own packed lunch, drink and own football if possible.
Commenting on the measures the club have taken to make The Optima Stadium ‘COVID secure’, Managing Director Oli Bliss said:
“We have been waiting until it is safe and government guidance would allow for us to re open parts of the club again.
“We are excited to be able to offer put our fun weeks on again, even if this is for reduced numbers. Over the next 6 weeks we will slowly phase certain parts of the club back for opening.”
A range of activities will be running during these sessions, including:
- Healthy living
- Skills school
- Passing challenges
- Shooting games
- Tactical sessions
- Player Q&A
There will be competitions and prizes for the children to win on the day.
All coaches are DBS checked.
