THE SEAGULLS HEAD TO CHELMSFORD CITY IN NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH ACTION

Weston are in midweek Vanarama National League South action as they head east to Chelmsford City this Monday, 29th January. The match kicks off at 7:45pm.

The Seagulls will be looking to build on Saturday’s 3-1 home victory over Tonbridge Angels at the Optima Stadium. That win completed a satisfying double over the Kent side as a lovely finish from Lloyd Humphries, his third goal in four games, and a superbly-taken brace from ex-Chelmsford man Robbie Willmott earned Weston their first home win of 2024.

Willmott was with The Clarets in the 2015/16 season and did enough during that campaign to earn his second move to Newport County.

Willmott and his Weston team-mates will come up against a City side in excellent form, and manager Robbie Simpson guided his side to yet another victory on Saturday, their sixth straight league win, after a 1-0 success at Hampton & Richmond, with the only goal coming from Charlie Ruff.

The Clarets are third in the table, and they put in a vintage performance at the Optima back in October after a 3-0 win against Weston.

However, Weston will be buoyed by the impressive win against Tonbridge and will head to Essex in confident mood.
