THE SEAGULLS HOST THE MAGPIES IN FA CUP ACTION

Weston are back in FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round action as they host National League side Maidenhead United this Saturday, 14th October. The match kicks off at 3pm.

The Seagulls take on The Magpies looking to reach the First Round proper of the cup, the stage where some big, established Football League clubs enter the competition.

But Maidenhead will offer a stiff test given their Step 1 status, and the visitors will be boosted by some encouraging results in recent weeks, particularly draws at Oldham Athletic and with Rochdale at their York Road home last Saturday.

Maidenhead are managed by the long-serving Alan Devonshire, who won the FA Cup as a player with West Ham United in 1980.

As a National League side, this is The Magpies’ first game in this year’s FA Cup campaign, while Weston have beaten fellow Vanarama National League South sides Truro City and Farnborough 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.

This is the sixth time in ten seasons that The Seagulls have reached the Fourth Qualifying Round, a good record considering Weston often start at the Second Qualifying stage or earlier. A healthy crowd is expected at the Optima this Saturday in what should be an entertaining encounter.

Tickets are also able to be purchased on the day via the turnstiles.

TURNSTILES:

We will be operating four turnstiles.

Turnstiles 1 & 2 – located at our main turnstile block next to the club shop – pre-sale tickets and card only.

Turnstile 3 – located on the opposite side of the ground by our 3G surface – cash only.

Turnstile 4 – located on the opposite side of the ground by our 3G surface – cash & card.

It helps with congestion and access to the ground if you queue at the correct turnstile.

As this is an ‘all pay game’ relevant admission prices will be required to be paid by all. Entrance can be via any turnstile.

CAR PARK:

Our Supporters Car Park charges £2.00 to park on a match day. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept card payment for this. So please ensure you have £2.00 available to pay on arrival.

For Season Ticket holders, early arrival is recommended, your car park will be for your exclusive use, when full you will be given free parking in the Supporters Car Park, where possible, instead.

ALCOHOL WITHIN GROUND:

Please note for this fixture, due to FA regulations no alcohol can be consumed within the stadium. All alcohol will be required to remain within the Somerset Suite Function Room and Sportsman Bar.

FACILITIES WITHIN THE GROUND:

Please note our Sportsman bar will close 90 minutes prior to kick-off, at which time the turnstiles will be open, and access can be made into the ground.

Our Somerset Suite Bar will serve alcohol via the main bar and also a pop-up bar selling Thatchers Gold and San Miguel, but all alcohol must remain inside the Somerset Suite Function Room.

Our inside ground Kitchen and inside ground Joe’s Bar will be open for food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Card payment can be made at all three locations.

GROUND REGULATIONS:

Please note our full Ground Regulations are detailed on our website HERE. All spectators are expected to adhere to these regulations during any game held at The Optima Stadium. Failure to do so can result in expulsion from the Optima Stadium and its facilities with no refund issued.

CLUB SHOP:

The Club Shop within the Optima Stadium will be open for all Weston-super-Mare AFC first team games.
