THE SEAGULLS VISIT THE BLUEBIRDS IN VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH

Weston are in Vanarama National League South action this weekend, as they make the short trip to Chippenham Town this Tuesday, 5th March. The match kicks off at 7:45pm.

This is the first fixture between the two sides in this campaign, meaning it has been five seasons since the clubs last faced each other. On Weston’s previous visit to Wiltshire in December 2018, The Seagulls were victorious by three goals to one as efforts from future Bluebird Marlon Jackson, Naby Diallo and Gethyn Hill earned an important three points.

In the return fixture at the Optima Stadium in February 2019, Chippenham gained revenge after their 1-0 victory, which came courtesy of Nat Jarvis’ second-half header. That was his second goal of the season against Weston, having netted Chippenham’s consolation at Hardenhuish Park.

As for this season, The Bluebirds are currently twelfth in the Vanarama National League South table. They are unbeaten in their last three after wins over Dover and Dartford and a 2-2 draw at Slough Town. These impressive results will give Gary Horgan’s side plenty of confidence ahead of the game with The Seagulls.

Weston’s recent performances have been good too, after the victories at Bath City and Hemel Hempstead and the narrow, unlucky defeat at runaway leaders Yeovil Town.
