Weston are in Somerset derby action as they make the short trip down the M5 to Taunton Town this Thursday, 14th March. The match kicks off at 7:45pm.

The Seagulls are due to take on a Peacocks side who have had a turbulent season so far. However, Taunton come into this fixture on the back of two superb victories on the road this week.

On Saturday they picked up a surprise 3-1 win at promotion-chasing Worthing after goals from Seb Bolton, Nick Grimes and Nat Jarvis. Then on Tuesday, Rob Dray’s side travelled to Plainmoor and beat Torquay United by three goals to nil in another fantastic win. On this occasion, Jarvis grabbed his second in two games before Cam Evans and former Weston forward Ross Stearn completed a famous win over the Devon side.

Those two important wins have lifted Taunton up to 18th in the Vanarama National League South table, two points clear of the relegation zone but with four games in hand.

There are obvious doubts over whether this game will go ahead, particularly as Taunton’s tenants, Truro City, had Tuesday’s game with Weymouth at Wordsworth Drive postponed. However, should the game go ahead, an entertaining Somerset derby clash can be expected.
