Weston are back in Somerset derby action as they make the short trip down the M5 to Taunton Town this Tuesday, 27th February. The match kicks off at 7:45pm.

Following last Tuesday’s unlucky 2-1 defeat at leaders Yeovil Town, The Seagulls are due to head south again in what will be the first of at least two occasions that Weston will come face-to-face with The Peacocks this season.

It has proved to be a difficult campaign so far for Rob Dray’s side, having been placed under a transfer embargo that was only recently lifted. Taunton are currently 20th in the Vanarama National League South table and are only one place above the relegation drop zone, although they might be encouraged by having played fewer games than the teams below them.

Taunton come into this Weston fixture on the back of Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Dartford. The Peacocks went ahead in Kent through a Nick Grimes penalty but had to settle for a point after a Darts equaliser. That draw was The Peacocks’ thirteenth of the season and they have now drawn more games than any other side in this division, showing what a difficult side Taunton can be to beat.

Like at Yeovil last week, another large and vocal backing from the Seagull Army can be expected for this intriguing game under the Wordsworth Drive lights.
