WELCH AND KINGSTON SET TO STAY IN BS24
The club have exercised their option in the contracts of youngsters Jarrad Welch and Liam Kingston, keeping them for the 2019-20 season.
The 20 year-old Welch joined the Seagulls in the summer of 2017 following an impressive pre-season trial after being released by Cardiff City, and has gone on to be a hit with the fans over the past two seasons.
Welch was one of the main reasons behind Weston’s late comeback in the Somerset Premier Cup final in 2018 and the Welshman has recovered from a mid-season injury to return in matchday 16.
Welch has currently pulled on the Seagulls shirt 70 times and scored 10 goals in the past two seasons.
Goalkeeper Liam Kingston has recently returned from a productive loan spell at Street.
‘Kinger’ joined Street at the end of November in the Southern League Division One South. While on loan at Street, the 19 year-old made 25 appearances keeping seven clean sheets, as the Cobblers finished 8th in the league, ten points shy of the Playoffs.
Kingston has currently made 10 appearances for the Seagulls, including being ever-present during the victorious Somerset Premier Cup run in 2017-2018.
We look forward to seeing both players develop over the next campaign with the club.
