WESTON BACK IN PRE-SEASON ACTION AT BRIDGWATER

Weston continue their pre-season campaign with the very short trip to Fairfax Park to take on Bridgwater United on Tuesday, July 12th, (7:45pm ko).

Similarly to Saturday’s game at Brimscombe & Thrupp, The Seagulls take on a Step 5 side away from home. Weston come face to face with a Bridgwater side that finished fifth in last season’s Western Premier League and also claimed silverware after winning the Les Phillips Cup, following a 1-0 win over Cadbury Heath in the final.

United have been recently boosted by the news that prolific goalscorer Jack Taylor has signed a new contract.

After our commanding 10-0 win at Brimscombe, it is another opportunity to get more minutes into the players’ legs and build up fitness.

There will be familiar faces in the United line-up. The Llewellyn brothers, Jake and Tom, both wore the Weston shirt with some distinction in recent years. Tom was awarded Bridgwater’s goal of the season for 2021/22. This will come as no surprise to Weston fans who will remember his wonderful goal at Welling United in November 2018.
