WESTON HEAD TO CHESHAM IN VITAL LEAGUE CLASH

Weston are back on the road as they head to Chesham United this Saturday, January 21st. The Southern League Premier South match kicks off at 3pm.

Both sides head into this game looking to earn points in their respective promotion pursuits. As it stands, The Generals are currently sitting in third place and will be looking to close the gap on the two sides above them.

Chesham are one of only two teams to have beaten The Seagulls in the league so far and are always a side to be wary of. The Generals beat Weston by three goals to one at the Optima earlier in the season under the lights on October 18. That night, United emerged victorious mainly in part to Jordan Edwards’ brace before Dayle Grubb’s late consolation goal.

Chesham have an array of attacking talent, including their top league scorer Karl Oliyide. He was again on the mark in The Generals’ last league fixture, a 2-1 home victory over Bracknell Town on January 7.

Weston have, of course, been in great goalscoring form themselves this season and they have boosted their striking options with the acquisition of Prince Henry, signed on loan from Bristol City last week.

This is now his second spell on loan from The Robins. In his first stint here last season, the young forward found the net in a 3-1 win over Chesham in October 2021, with Lloyd Humphries bagging a brace in that same fixture.

A repeat of that success will be most welcome, in what promises to be an intriguing encounter in Buckinghamshire this Saturday between the two promotion contenders.
