WESTON HEAD TO MET POLICE IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE CLASH
Weston head east for the second time in four days as they visit Met Police this Tuesday, February 21st. The Southern League Premier South match kicks off at 7:45pm.
The Seagulls make the journey to Surrey after Saturday’s pleasing 3-2 win at Hendon, which came courtesy of Elis Watts’ early goal and James Dodd’s fantastic second-half double.
It was a tough game at Silver Jubilee Park, and another potentially difficult encounter is likely against Met Police, who have a good record against Weston having completed a league double over us last season.
The Seagulls will, of course, be confident and will be buoyed by returning to the top of the table after the victory in North West London.
Met Police are currently in eighth position in the table, four points off the play-offs, and will be looking for a positive result to boost their own promotion chances. They will be determined to get back on track following Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Merthyr Town. Speaking after the match, manager Gavin Macpherson admitted he was “bitterly disappointed” with his side’s performance and is demanding a reaction from his players against Weston, in what should be a good game under the Imber Court lights.
