WESTON HEAD TO WINCHESTER CITY IN LATEST SOUTHERN LEAGUE CLASH

Weston are back in Southern League Premier South action as they head south to Winchester City this Saturday, 11th March. The game kicks off at 3pm.

The Seagulls make the journey to Hampshire just four days after Tuesday’s entertaining 2-2 draw with Beaconsfield Town, as goals from Jordan Bastin and Marlon Jackson earned Weston a point.

Our opponents, Winchester City, didn’t play in midweek but may well have wanted to so that they could try and recover quickly from last Saturday’s 6-1 home defeat to Swindon Supermarine.

Manager Craig Davis will be hoping his side will be in better shape against The Seagulls, particularly as The Citizens will be looking for points to stave off the potential threat of relegation.

They are currently 16th in the Southern League Premier South, five points above the relegation zone. After winning the Southern League Division One South play-offs after their win in the final against Bristol Manor Farm last season, Winchester will be desperate to stay in the division, particularly as it is the first time ever that they have participated at Step 3.

Even though we are now in March, this is the first meeting of the season between Weston and Winchester, with the two sides now facing each other twice in the space of three weeks.
