WESTON MAKE QUICK RETURN TO BOLITHO PARK FOR TRURO CITY CLASH
Top-of-the-table Weston travel down the M5 once again, as they take on second-placed Truro City in an exciting-looking Southern League Premier South clash. The game at Bolitho Park kicks-off this Wednesday, September 14th at 7:45pm.
Weston’s last away league fixture was also at the same venue they travel to for this game, as The Seagulls overcame Truro’s landlords, Plymouth Parkway, by four goals to one. That win in Devon was Weston’s fifth consecutive league victory.
Truro, clearly, have also been in excellent league form as they sit just two points behind their visitors. In their last league game, they looked set for all three points at Tiverton until Tivvy equalised late on with a goal assisted by on-loan Weston forward Alfie Moulden.
In the White Tigers’ last fixture, they were on the receiving end of a slight shock in the FA Cup as they lost 5-2 at Merthyr.
In the corresponding fixture last season, Weston ran out 4-0 winners on Easter Monday after goals from James Dodd, Marlon Jackson and Dayle Grubb’s late brace.
Earlier in the season, on New Years Day, the two sides shared four goals in a 2-2 draw at the Optima Stadium, after memorable strikes from Jason Pope and the aforementioned Moulden, whose equalising goal deep into injury-time broke Truro’s hearts.
It should be a cracking encounter in Devon as Weston look to extend their excellent run.
