WESTON-SUPER-MARE AFC AND WESTON MENDIP FC TEAM UP
Weston-super-Mare AFC and Weston Mendip FC are delighted to announce a partnership aimed at advancing girls’ and women’s football in the local community.
The collaboration will see Weston Mendip’s 13s and 15s teams proudly play under the Weston-super-Mare AFC name in the Junior Premier League.
Weston-super-Mare AFC will oversee the management of the 18s, reserves, and first team with the involvement of coaches from both clubs.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for girls’ and women’s football in Weston-super-Mare, bringing together the combined resources, facilities, and expertise of both clubs.
Jo Lintern, Chairwoman at Weston Mendip FC, said: “Our partnership with Weston-super Mare-AFC will allow us to continue developing players through a player pathway and incorporates our high-performing Junior Premier League teams.
“Weston-super-Mare AFC will be providing opportunities for players who are over the age of 16 to join their first team and a newly established reserve team.
“They will also provide u18s football giving female players in the local area a fantastic opportunity to continue playing.”
The partnership will commence immediately, and preparations are already underway for the upcoming season.
Sarah Adams, Women’s Manager at Weston-super-Mare AFC, said: “This merger is so important to the future of female football in our local area.
“It creates a much larger talent pool which should, in turn, raise the standards of competition for our players.”
The clubs are now looking to add more talented players to all their squads.
