WESTON TRAVEL TO YATE IN LEAGUE CLASH
The Seagulls travel to The South West Interiors Stadium to take on Yate Town in a Southern League South clash on Saturday 5th February, 3pm kick-off.
Yate currently sit in 8th place, just one point behind Scott Bartlett’s side in 6th. Weston are just one point off of Gosport Borough who occupy the final play off place. Games in hand are aplenty, Yate having two on Weston, Weston having three on Gosport.
Weston come into this game after being knocked out of the Men’s Somerset Premier Cup by Frome Town. A much-changed and youthful Weston side were beaten 2-1 by a hard-working Frome side.
Yate most recently saw their 7 game unbeaten run ended away at Chesham. A score-line of 1-0 ended the Bluebells’ long unbeaten run.
The last time the two sides met was back in October 2021 at the Optima Stadium. A first-half Prince Henry goal wasn’t enough to stop Yate from running out 2-1 winners.
