Weston Under 18s couldn’t quite secure 3 points at the Optima Stadium after a late Odd Down goal meant they had to settle for a point.
The Seagulls began to grow into the game after the first 15 minutes and were rewarded through the right boot of Lewis Potter.
He picked the ball up in the middle of the park before reaching the edge of the box and curling into the top right corner.
After the goal Weston continued to improve and started to threaten Odd Down more and more creating chances and winning free kicks in dangerous areas.
Weston captain Callum Black had a couple of chances smartly saved, the most notable was an excellent free kick tipped just over the bar by the goalkeeper shortly before half time.
Odd Down started the second half with something to prove and consistently pressured the Weston final third with no reward.
The Seagulls managed to regain a grip on the game and saw numerous good spells of possession and chances that couldn’t extend the Seagulls’ lead.
Callum Black continued to look dangerous in the Weston midfield and once again saw an effort well tipped over by the Odd Down goalkeeper from a dangerous free kick.
Odd Down got their reward for what was a resolute and determined performance 4 minutes from time. A wide free kick wasn’t fully cleared by the Weston defence and the ball found its way to the edge of the box where James Hare was on hand to calmly slot past Skidmore and earn the visitors a point.
Weston struggled to rally after the late blow and couldn’t muster enough to gain all 3 points and had to settle for just the one.
