WESTON VISIT BRACKNELL IN EAGERLY ANTICIPATED SEASON OPENER

After weeks of waiting, the Southern League Premier South campaign finally restarts. The Seagulls make the journey to Sandhurst to take on Bracknell Town in the first game of the eagerly awaited new season. The game in Berkshire kicks off at 3pm this Saturday, August 6.

Bracknell are the champions of the Isthmian League South Central Division, and have already been tipped by many to carry on their excellent progress by challenging at the top of their new league.

The Robins won the league by an incredible 20 points to show how commanding they were at Step 4 last season. Even more remarkably, Bracknell only lost two league games and were easily the division’s most miserly defence, conceding only twelve goals for the whole of the league campaign.

Up front, Bracknell have retained the services of top scorer Seb Bowerman, who netted 29 times for Town last season.

The experienced Bobby Wilkinson is in charge of The Robins, and Wilkinson has proved to be one of the most astute managers in the non-league game, having done so well at both Hungerford Town and Wealdstone.

It promises to be an intriguing encounter between two sides fancied to do well.
