WESTON WELCOME EAST THURROCK AS SEASON APPROACHES FINAL RUN IN

Weston’s next fixture sees them welcome mid-table side East Thurrock to the Woodspring Stadium on Saturday. The match will see the Seagulls aiming to put space between themselves and the teams currently battling to secure their Vanarama National League South status, namely Truro, Whitehawk & Gosport, all looking to finish above 20th position.

With the arrival of Theo Wharton, on loan from Cardiff City, the midfield options for the Seagulls will be boosted heading into the final month of the season. Following a five-game winning streak against teams chasing the title & playoff positions earlier this year, Head Coach Scott Bartlett will look to draw from the positives from the narrow defeats over the month of March.

East Thurrock however have plenty to take from their first season in the Vanarama National League South, as they currently sit 12th in the table. Saturday’s visitors to the Woodspring have won two games of their last three, 0 – 4 away to Bishops Stortford & 2 – 1 at home to Oxford City, falling foul in their last match to Chelmsford in a 1 – 2 home tie on Tuesday evening.

Last time the teams met back in October, Scott Bartlett’s first away trip as Seagulls Head Coach, resulted in a disappointing 5-1 loss. Kane Ferdinand, Tom Wraight, Reece Harris, James Walker and Joe Ellul grabbed the East Thurrock, with Dayle Grubb getting his name on the scoresheet for Weston.
