WESTON WELCOME SWINDON SUPERMARINE IN LATEST LEAGUE CLASH

Weston return home for a game under the lights as they take on Swindon Supermarine on Tuesday, September 27th. The game at the Optima Stadium kicks off at 7:45pm.

Supermarine make the relatively short journey to BS24 after Saturday’s 1-1 home draw against Beaconsfield Town. Brad Hooper had given Swindon the lead, but Aaron Minhas equalised for The Rams. Following that stalemate, Supermarine are third in the table.

As for Weston, they continued their sensational start to the season with a 1-0 win at Hayes after Dayle Grubb’s excellent finish early in the second half separated the sides.

In the two Southern League Premier South encounters last season, the home sides emerged victorious in the respective fixtures. At the Webbswood in December, Weston took an early lead through Marlon Jackson and led at half-time, before Swindon stormed back to claim a 2-1 win after goals from Harry Williams and Henry Spalding.

In the return fixture here in March, Grubb’s spectacular 90th minute free-kick sent the Weston fans home in an ecstatic mood after his late, late winner claimed a 1-0 victory. This vital win was even more impressive as Weston had to play the majority of the second half with only ten men after a red card was brandished to Josh Thomas.

Games between Weston and Swindon Supermarine have tended to be tight affairs in recent years, and a repeat of this is possible once more. While Supermarine are likely to be difficult opponents, The Seagulls will be looking for three more points to continue their wonderful form as they head into an extremely busy fixture schedule.

TURNSTILES:

We will be operating two turnstiles at our main turnstile block next to the club shop.

Turnstile 1, on the left, will operate on a cash only basis.

Turnstile 2, on the right, will operate on a card only basis.

It helps with congestion and access to the ground if you queue at the correct turnstile.

Please note the entrance for Walking Football & Junior Academy members is now via the main turnstiles. Those eligible members will be admitted entrance as per your team agreement. Junior Academy Parents, you will need to be with the Junior Academy Member at the time of entering.

Your entrance using your Season Ticket Card will be via the players’ and officials’ entrance.

CAR PARK:

Our Supporters’ Car Park charges £2.00 to park on a match day. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept card payment for this. So please ensure you have £2.00 available to pay on arrival.

For Season Ticket holders, early arrival is recommended. Your car park is for your exclusive use, when full you will be given free parking in the Supporters’ Car Park where possible instead.

FACILITIES WITHIN GROUND:

Please note, our Sportsman Bar will close 90 minutes before kick-off, at which time the turnstiles will be open and access can be made into the ground.

Our Somerset Suite Bar, Kitchen and inside ground Joe’s Bar will all be open. Card payment can be made at all three locations.

GROUND REGULATIONS

Please note our full ground regulations are detailed on our website www.westonsmareafc.co.uk/ground-regulations/ all spectators are expected to adhere to these regulations during any game held at The Optima Stadium.

Failure to do so can result in expulsion from The Optima Stadium and its facilities with no refund issued.
