WESTON WELCOME THE IRON TO THE WOODSPRING
Weston welcome Braintree Town to the Woodspring Stadium this evening, as the Seagulls look to gain some momentum with the season drawing to a close.
Following Weston’s 1 – 0 win over Bognor Regis Town at the weekend, thanks to a sole Kenan Dunnwald strike, sees the Seagulls continue to sit 11th in the league, just six points off the play-off positions, with North Somerset rivals Bath City sitting only a point ahead in the league table.
Braintree Town are currently also amongst the chasing pack for the play-offs, the pack that Weston are fighting to stay a part of, with the Iron four points behind 7th-placed Hemel Hempstead. Braintree have won one in their past five league games though, including a 2 – 1 loss to Bognor last month.
The last time these two sides met was in November, during an impressive league run by the Seagulls. In a game where there weren’t many chances, it took an Ash Harper effort from 18 yards to separate the two sides, with Weston coming away as 0 – 1 winners over the side, who were then top of the National League South table.
