WILL 2017 BE THE YEAR OF THE SEAGULL?

The Seagulls will get 2017 underway this New Years Day when they welcome Truro City to the Woodspring in the second part of the South-West double header, after beating the Cornish side 1-2 on Boxing Day.

At the halfway stage of the season, Weston currently lie in the Relegation Zone on 19 points, however a win on Sunday will bring Truro down into the lower part of the table and after collecting four points from the last six available, and the extension of Brad Ash’s loan until the end of the season, there will certainly be a positive vibe around the Woodspring on Sunday.

Truro will be looking for revenge come 3PM on Sunday and in the last few days, have recently acquired central midfielder Charlie Duke on a month’s loan from Torquay United. And without a win since the 26th November, Truro will be looking to put their poor streak behind them in the New Year.

On Boxing Day, Weston left Treyew Road with three points after a Brad Ash header and a Gethyn Hill tap-in cancelled out a 37th minute opener from Rocky Neal. The last time Truro visited the Woodspring, Scott Wilson scored a 25-yard screamer to give Weston a well earned point.
